Will You Be a Plant For a Season? -- Cultivating Fruitfulness-Day 12 Passionate Worship

In my previous post I mentioned the possibility of new worship opportunities.

For any new ministry to get off the ground there has to be critical mass. Another way to say this is that a crowd attracts a crowd.

Imagine if you walked into the Wednesday night dinner and it was just you and me. Now, don't get me wrong, I am a pretty fantastic guy to be around (feel the humility oozing off of me yet?), and Jesus does say that where two or more are gathered in his name, he is there present, but it is just too uncomfortable -- especially if you are new to the church --to walk in to a church and find out that it is just you and one other person present for that ministry.

So we need some "plants" every time we start a new ministry.

By plants I mean a group of people who are willing to say, "This may not be my thing, but I can see the importance of this new ministry in the life of the church, so I will participate in and support something that is outside my comfort zone so that it might be fruitful."

So, for each new ministry we initiate we need a handful of people who will commit to participate in it for a season -- a set period of time -- until that ministry is self-sustaining.

Will you be a plant?
