Invitation Through Relationships -- Radical Hospitality Day Four

Cultivating Fruitfulness
Radical Hospitality Day Four

I have invited numerous people to church and church ministries. I have done this in person, in emails, in letters, and through phone calls. I’ll just admit that this can be the most uncomfortable part of being a Christian for me. There are times when I have met with great success, but more often than not this is an exercise in frustration.

Inviting someone to church makes me feel vulnerable. It is like asking someone on a date for the first time: Will I be judged? Will I be rejected?

The greatest success I have had in inviting others to church is when there is a pre-existing relationship. In other words I know the person before I invite her or him. If this is the case for me, then perhaps I need to be developing more relationships outside of the church?
